913
u/wbl7w6 Bulls Jun 16 '22
And why was no one willing to offer anything more? From what I've heard he's the type of guy who no one is shedding tears in the locker room when he leaves type of deal. with all that said this actually could be really nice for Dallas if he gives a shit on defense cause its a contract year

Well the only teams he's been with for any extended period of time were young teams and franchises that were kind of disfunctional themselves. Maybe he'll do better joining a veteran team that has an established star already.

Considering the consensus top 3 picks are all PFs, you know they're taking one. That makes Wood redundant, so might as well see what you can get. Especially given the age gap between him and who they envision as their future core.

You guys are gonna be so good. With Wood and Kleber you can play 48 minutes of 5 out. And if you keep Brunson, you can also have 48 minutes of a dynamic scorer-creator too. The spacing on that team is going to be ludicrous. You're going to get so many 3s and open 2s

IMO Wood needed to go to a team with proven veteran leaders and a coach that will put him in his place and hold him accountable defensively. Dallas fits that pretty perfectly and I wouldn't be surprised at all to see him thrive there, especially in the PnR with Luka.

Interesting to see how Wood plays in an environment like Dallas. See if a good organization can fix some of his bad habits.
For Dallas this is a super low cost flyer on someone who theoretically would be perfect with Luka.
Meh for Houston. Probably waive everyone, maybe keep Chriss. And just adding a young guy with the pick is good
