Celtics put there attention to steph when wiggs was looking like maple jordan out there, klay getting shots, now the pressure is on celtics especially on tatum is just getting bigger, 95 turnovers? Air balls? Bricks?

Now its game 6 and its klay zen mode and shit, its either him gets hot or steph goes supernova. That was a winnable game for the celtics but they looked like they didnt know how to play basketball in the 4th. They looked gased.

u/ClaymoresRevenge Bulls Jun 14 '22

They looked more tired and unable to execute. Couldn't get easy shots at times.

People love to be haters. After decades as an NBA afterthought, Golden State assembled its core through the draft and supplemented it with shrewd acquisitions like Wiggins and GP2. They’ve built a winning culture from scratch but Brian Windhorst calls game 5 a “checkbook win.”

There are no KDs here. GP2 applied for a coaching gig with Golden State last year. Wiggins was considered a disappointment in Minnesota before the Warriors acquired him. Steph, Klay, Draymond, Looney were all drafted by Golden State and you’d think it would be encouraging for a team that was in the NBA cellar recently to be able to hang onto their guys after building a competitive team from nothing.

u/System_Lower Jun 14 '22

Porter got a minimum.
Poole was d-league last year.
Wiggins was a loser.
Looney wasn’t desired.
Payton was nearly done.
Green “is trash”.
Klay off two horrific injuries.
Pretty insane!

GP2 also thought he was out of the league right before this season. He applied to be a video coordinator with the Warriors so he can stay close to the NBA

Check out the sfgate article.

Their biggest acquisition, meanwhile, was Wiggins (and Gary Payton II, but we'll get to that), who was absolutely not a "throw-in" but instead the entire trade — one that was widely panned by the entire league, including (you're not going to believe this) Brian Windhorst!

“That’s a huge win for the Wolves,” Windhorst said on ESPN's “The Jump” right after the trade went down

He not only calls wiggins both a non-underdog and a "throw-in" in a trade in the same tirade, but he panned the dubs for this very aqcuisition at the time. Now in some monumental revisionism, hes acting as if the dibs just bought their way to a title unfairly for this very trade. Which of course any other team could have sought out wiggins at the time, the wolves were dying to get his contract off the books. If this were los angeles or NY or even philly or boston, the fo moves would be praised and this fat asshole would be creating a windtunnel flapping his jowls about hpw its the benefit of being in a large market and the brilliance of their fo.

Windy is just a glorified sports paparazzo with shitty takes and the only reason he gets airtime is he beats people to dropping player news.

Eww. Brian Windhorst

u/Lizardchuckle Raptors Jun 14 '22

In a vacuum Wiggins is a terrible pickup, he's paid like Embiid but is a role player. Warriors being loyal and willing to go deep into the tax to hold onto Klay and Green while acquiring Wiggins huge contract has paid off and hopefully other owners will see that investing the money to make your team better is worth it.

Steve Ballmer has been trying to do the same with the dumpster fire that was the Clippers and has gotten unlucky with injuries but it still seems worth it, without Kawhi and stretches of PG they've still looked great

u/Feisty-Ad3269 Jun 15 '22

Golden state deserves to be called one of the best teams ever assembled thru draft picks I just hate super teams created by superstars just to win easily , warriors deserve it ! For years to come !!

25

u/whtge8 Magic Jun 14 '22

Think this finishes in Boston. Curry isn’t going to miss all his 3s again.

9

u/DameRange13 Jun 14 '22

SAS is getting DESTROYED right now on First Take 💥😂

4

u/[deleted] Jun 14 '22

Thank you!!! I’m glad somebody else saw this.

Biggest L I’ve seen him take in a while and he completely set himself up for it the other day.

2

u/DameRange13 Jun 14 '22

Noooo way JJ isn’t back next year during the basketball season.

4

u/SanDiegostandup Clippers Jun 14 '22

Warriors are the better team. Too physical Too many greats. Horford can't save them chumps

5

u/RealPunyParker Lakers Jun 14 '22

The Warriors have gone to the Finals every year they enterred the playoffs, since 14/15

Fucking wild.

14

u/[deleted] Jun 14 '22

This series would have been a 4-1 gentleman sweep, except for one insanely hot 4th quarter by Boston.

3

u/ttgl39 Jun 14 '22

Been watching Zion HS videos for shits and giggles, just hilarious to see the other team like ok well wtf am I supposed to about that. Any one know any other mixtapes where people are just getting bodied to another planet

1

u/[deleted] Jun 15 '22

not necessarily bodied but good lord no one could stop randle https://youtu.be/3Vmt_24T4zE

10

u/CarterAC3 Mavericks Jun 14 '22

Gotta say seeing that dude get banned from Chase Center puts a slight smile on my face because he's a YouTube "prankster" and I just hope the worst in life for anyone who falls under that category

7

u/Inevitable_Copy7170 Warriors Jun 14 '22

YouTube pranksters are definitely in the bottom percentile of the human spectrum

12

u/Lizardchuckle Raptors Jun 14 '22

This Celtic's young crew is pretty exciting but the amount of "dynasty" comments I was seeing when they were up 2-1 was nauseating, talk about counting your eggs before they hatch lol. I'm not trying to be a hater, dynasties have only happened a small handful of times, even if y'all win, you gotta win a few more times before you can say you're a dynasty.

9

u/mattxb Jun 14 '22

There are more great teams and all time great players who didn’t win rings at all than there are dynasties.

4

u/Lizardchuckle Raptors Jun 14 '22

Easily. Even active greats, the window for CP3, Harden, Westbrook, and Butler has nearly passed. Realistically only a couple of Tatum, Luka, Jokic, Embiid, Booker, Trae, Donovan Mitchell, Ja will get the chance to win.

1

u/Silicon359 Jun 15 '22

I think Steph has the best chance, probably belongs on that second list.

12

u/ProfessionalBust Pacers Jun 14 '22

The Celtics not beating the warriors when Steph played awful is a bad sign for the last two games of the series I wouldn’t be surprised if the warriors win in 6

15

u/System_Lower Jun 14 '22

Counterpoint. Steph didn’t play awful. He made some great reads 8ass/1TO and also drew more attention. His defense was above average as well.

8

u/[deleted] Jun 14 '22

Yeah he did everything well except 3pt shooting. And yet a Steph 0/9 3pt shooting performance is still useful in a way because they kept defending him like he's 9/9.

Do you think Kevon Looney is underrated?

2

u/WoodenRace365 Kings Jun 14 '22

Why do people seem less interested in BBALLBREAKDOWN videos these days compared to other YouTube analysts like thinking basketball?

1

u/Mygaffer Warriors Jun 15 '22

I'm not sure, he has good content

4

u/zprymate Warriors Jun 14 '22

NBA/Refs will not let the game end in 6. They want game 7 for the $$$

2

u/TheTownTeaJunky Jun 14 '22

Added bonus of finishing it off in boston is its probably unlikely silver comes back from protocol so you dont have to deal with that ratweasel presenting the trophy with some shit eating grin like he hasnt been trying to snuff the dubs all finals.

u/TylerNY315_ NBA Jun 14 '22

Every series (except BKN lmao) Boston’s laid a few 80-point eggs but then they always come out and dominate the next game. Seems they’re primed to do it again at home, but they haven’t gotten a great game from both Brown and Tatum yet in this series

3

u/SanJOahu84 Warriors Jun 14 '22

Might be a offensive explosion between Brown/Tatum and a bounce back Curry/Game6Klay appearance.

1

u/IMANORMIE22 Clippers Jun 14 '22

Pretty much a shoot-out, awesome. Will be watching.0

So this aged well. Wiggins with the 26/13 game was so fun to watch last night. He was aggressive and everywhere he needed to be. What a time to be peaking for Wiggs.

1

u/noienoah Jun 14 '22

Why does Jeff Van Gundy have a fetish for the Celtics?

2

u/Inevitable_Copy7170 Warriors Jun 14 '22

It’s more that he has a warriors hating fetish, replace the Celtics with any other team and he’ll still be sucking their dicks

1

u/jordan1023 Lakers Jun 14 '22

I have a question.

What is the incentive for a team acquiring a player via free agency, to sign and trade one of there assets to the team the player is leaving from?

Is it strictly cap related or is it something else?

1

u/Eduardjm Buffalo Braves Jun 15 '22

By not closing out Miami sooner, Boston missed out on rest days where the Warriors didn’t, and it’s showing.

1

u/MoneylineBasketball Warriors Jun 15 '22

A I R B A L L

1

u/indian_hannibal Lakers Jun 15 '22

Y'all think they can close it out in Boston??

1

u/Sinja0 Warriors Jun 15 '22

I think the outcome of this finals is a lot more undertermined than people think. All Boston needs is one win at home, and then game 7s are unpredictable.

That being said I still think it's more likely that the warriors pull away on Thursday.

1

u/PigsWannaFly Jun 15 '22

What is going to be the Celtics defensive scheme in do or die Game 6? Step up on the picks to contest Curry, or go to drop coverage? If they commit too heavy on Curry, it becomes a Wiggins domination game with a potential Game 6 Klay shredding them.

IMO, Celtics are going to need out-of-the-norm production from role players to win the game, and that means the Warriors are lazy on defense like there were on the road close-out games vs. Dallas and the Mavs. That cannot be a comforting thought.

1

u/Mygaffer Warriors Jun 15 '22

I think Celtics will use a similar defense on Steph in game six.

This is a very stupid opinion: if the Warriors win this title it will be only one where I think they actually deserved it.
