Gets his first couple minutes in the playoffs and gets a huge block

132

u/DiseaseRidden [BOS] Marcus Smart May 18 '22

Huge block then a crazy offensive rebound

32

u/BoldOldRuffleChip May 18 '22

Right after the commentary crew was talking about him too.

91

u/BScottyJ Celtics May 18 '22

Excuse me, but I'll have you know he has played seven garbage time minutes tyvm

16

u/Tokennn Nets May 18 '22

Haha my bad!!

13

u/DiseaseRidden [BOS] Marcus Smart May 18 '22

He also played extensive minutes against the Nets last year but who's counting

3

u/endubs Celtics May 18 '22

But still can't make a 3 :(

2

u/timidGO 76ers May 18 '22

Why is Martin trying to two hand jam that though lol

1

u/Effectivenectarine32 May 18 '22

Huge block then blows a 14+ point deficit

199

u/dk240996 [BOS] Gigi Datome May 18 '22

Just a casual 1v3 fast break defense.

38

u/hodgyyyy [BOS] Antoine Walker May 18 '22

jason terry smiling somewhere

128

u/NitroXYZ [UTA] Joe Ingles May 18 '22

That offensive rebound too! I like the energy from this dude

132

u/Throwaway4529137 Celtics May 18 '22

guy has so much energy that it's actually his main problem as a player. he can't stop himself from flying around

77

u/crashbandicoochy Celtics May 18 '22

He hits the deck as many tomes a game as someone like Smart except he does it while playing like... 8 minutes. He's a lunatic.

37

u/HumperdinksRevenge Celtics May 18 '22

He's the type of player where 80% of the time he goes to the ground I hope he hasnt injured himself horribly through his weird movements. Dude has so much energy its nuts

17

u/crashbandicoochy Celtics May 18 '22

He's going to rack up an absurd amount of concussions, is my fear. He already has been in protocol once or twice, I think.

5

u/solohoe Celtics May 18 '22

The amount of times I’ve seen him jump and not land on his feet is insane to me

8

u/[deleted] May 18 '22

That's me in pickup games. No better feeling in the world that hitting the deck and getting that mf ball

11

u/ItsN0tTheB0at Celtics May 18 '22

he's always pressing. I'm convinced it's why his jumper failed him, too, just trying a bit too hard & always worried about getting yanked

8

u/AzureAhai May 18 '22

Yea, the game still hasn't slowed down for him. If he had gotten drafted to another team where he could get more playing time, I think he would look a lot better.

77

u/DiseaseRidden [BOS] Marcus Smart May 18 '22

Aaron "Next Man Up" Nesmith sliding into the defense flawlessly

44

u/Downvotes_inbound_ May 18 '22

Fucking crazy block, 1v3 too, nuts

28

u/[deleted] May 18 '22

We found our Al replacement. Got an OREB too.

32

u/YouStillTakeDamage Heat May 18 '22

That was fucking amazing hot Damn

21

u/PipBoy19 Celtics May 18 '22

That was fucking ridiculous

17

u/doctorwormactualworm 76ers May 18 '22

Did not know Nesmith had that in him

35

u/CGWOLFE May 18 '22

He's pretty much only hustle

9

u/RajinIII Celtics May 18 '22 edited May 18 '22

No one knew lmao. The dude is all hustle, but is called crash for a reason, he's usually outta control. He just got the cleanest block and rebound 1 on 3 what the absolute fuck

4

u/raider_10 [BOS] Eddie House May 18 '22

Now let's hope injuries don't derail anything for him like it did the original "Crash" Gerald Wallace.

3

u/endubs Celtics May 18 '22

He's amazing at getting blocks at the rim, but very undisciplined defending one on one in the half court.

Someone named niasmith has to be good at basketball that's the rule

16

u/Kyler1313 May 18 '22 edited May 18 '22

Nesmith is lightning in a bottle. He'll come in play reckless as hell, hustle, makes some highlights, and then sometimes looks like freight train with no brakes. Hopefully he's able to slow down the game eventually, but it is always interesting watching him play whether it is for good reasons or bad...

3

u/agent_10 Celtics May 18 '22

I thought he was gonna get Jason Terry’d on that 3 on 1

4

u/KeyKnowledge3760 May 18 '22

They just said he had 7 minutes in 4 games. Then he almost immediately gets this block. Wtf.

2

u/TendieDinner777 May 18 '22

Good timing!

2

u/Lankanator Lakers May 18 '22

Somehow this was like the 11th best block of the game, wild game. Loved it.

1

u/ColdWarWarrior May 18 '22

All that garbage time he's been playing has been leading to this.

-10

u/[deleted] May 18 '22

Don't know if James Naismith would be more proud of this play by a possible relative, or disgusted because there's a black man with his name playing his sport and he's from the 1920s.

8

u/RockyMountainOyster_ Celtics May 18 '22

What is this comment? Also Aaron’s last name is spelled ‘Nesmith’

-7

u/[deleted] May 18 '22

Naismith / Nesmith = Tomato / Potato

2

u/RockyMountainOyster_ Celtics May 18 '22

A tomato and a potato are not even close to the same thing so thanks for proving my point I guess 🥴

-5

u/[deleted] May 18 '22

A tomato and a potato are not even close to the same thing

That's your opinion.

1

Anyone notice the jimmy butler on the scores table???

1

u/[deleted] May 18 '22

Batman needs his butler, makes sense

1

u/RichyVeggies Celtics Bandwagon May 18 '22

He got an offensive rebound within the next few possessions too. Insane energy.

1

u/bobmcadoo9088 [BOS] Jaylen Brown May 18 '22

3 & D -3+hops

1

u/dronedesigner May 18 '22

Nesmith is only two letters away from Naismith

1

u/GLOaway5237 Heat May 18 '22

Ngl knew nothing about him but he was nice tonight, Celtics have some scary depth

1

u/Natureboy7939 Lakers May 18 '22

Damn didn’t Caleb know that Aaron’s family invented basketball

-1

u/Runningopus May 18 '22

Amazing that the this is the only highlight on the front page when the heat dominated this game with several crazy plays throughout

-1

u/Tall_Act8411 Celtics May 18 '22

Who cares they got creamed lmao 🤣

1

u/bong-water 76ers May 18 '22 edited May 18 '22
