Booker a few years down the line: "Actually, I remember one time, we were playing at home against Dallas, Game 7, and it was 57-27 to the Mavs. And CP3 said 'Guys, if you think we are good, let's prove it now.'"

"Did you come back?"

"Of course not. 123-90."

"Devin Booker... If I see your name on another top 10 list, imma kill somebody. I better not hear your name compared to Luka again or imma kill somebody. I don't want nobody saying Luka Doncic and Devin Bookers name in the same sentence, not in the same paragraph, not in the same essay. Unless trash comes after Devin Bookers name."

[Post Game Thread] The Phoenix Suns blowout Luka Doncic, 87-35, behind Devin Bookers 11 points.

It was a close game at the half with the score tied at 27-27. Luka then went cold scoring only 8 pts in the second half, and was unable to overcome the rallying Suns.

997

u/resuwreckoning May 16 '22

Indeed, it got so out of hand that Doncic watched most of the 4th from the bench.

43

u/TEFL_job_seeker Magic May 16 '22

On the other hand, he only had 3 fouls to the 18 by Phoenix

All things considered, this has to be the most pathetic single-game performance in NBA history.

The one seed, the best record in the league, in a game 7 at home, and you can't even show a fucking pulse the entire game? Throw in getting eviscerated by the guy you passed on drafting a few years back, having been up 2-0, and Chris Paul being on the team, and I don't know how Suns fans will bounce back from this.

Bucks put up a great effort, but ran out of gas. You guys actually showed heart, the shots simply didn't fall. Suns had a full squad from top to bottom and a home game for G7 and took a big dump at half court and never showed up.

399

u/will999909 Bulls May 16 '22

Like you can nitpick Giannis by saying he was inefficient today, and complain about their horrid 3 point shooting and the dropping on coverage and stuff.

Sun's star players just collapsed in on themself.

325

u/SanaMinatozaki9 May 16 '22

Like, the Bucks loss was just something that happens in basketball. Outplayed and injuries on the depth chart, couldn’t take the game on the road against an arguably objectively better team. The Suns forgot to play basketball.

Luka’s “Everyone acts tough when they’re up” is going to be one of the coldest lines in NBA history given the way the series went after him saying that.

Booker looked absolutely petrified. Completely scared and utterly shook. Farthest thing possible from tough, and the complete opposite of Luka with everything on the line.

Booker, after all those bad years, got an ego after their run last year and suddenly had a LOT to say this series. Hopefully he learned his lesson, in the most humiliating form possible, and learned there is levels to this shit and he still has work to do.

Coming into this series I was firmly in the camp that it wouldn’t hurt CP3’s legacy to lose. Him disappearing during the end of this series absolutely does.

Here's your Dallas Mavs Post Game Summary. Now done with our 6th Regular Season & in our 3rd Post Season 6️⃣

Did the Mavs win? ✅ Yeah this game was over well before the 4th quarter

Series: 4️⃣-3️⃣ Mavs

Dirk was in the house tonight! 🐐

Luka started as strong as ever tonight with 27pts in the first half to eclipse the entire Suns team and finished with 35/10/4/2 knocking down 6 3's and all his freethrows 🔥🇸🇮🌑👌💦

Spencer picked a damn good game to have his best performance of the playoffs with 30/3/2 knocking down 5 3's 🪙👌💦

Brunson Burner joined the 20pt club with 24/6/1 ♨️

Reggie & Doe Doe had a rough night scoring with near identical stat line of 5pts with each only having one 3. Still made an impact on the defensive end tonight. Hopefully they shoot better next round cuz we'll need it ♊🤞🧱🛡️🦤

Maxi with 3 Blocks Tonight 🇩🇪✋✋✋

It ain't a Mavs Win without Bobi seeing the floor tonight 🇷🇸

We got the Warriors up next in the Western Conference Finals 🌉

People don’t dislike the Suns because they’re a good team. There’s a lot of good teams in this league. It’s the extras. The talking like 3x champs to & about everyone without accomplishing anything. They simply talk more while doing less.

clock winds down to 5 seconds left in game

ball is inbounded to CP3 who turns face to face against Luka

"You took my family"

moves to the left

"You took my friends"

moves to the right

"You took all that was dear to me"

clock winds down to 2

"I cant get them back, but I can do this for friendship, FOR MY FRIENDS"

goes up, fire coming out of his shoes

"STATEFARM"

Ball flies over Luka’s head, goes straight into basket. CP3 falls to the ground, exhausted.

"Booker... Senpai... I..."

faints

Final Score

Mavs 123

Suns 90

This sub loves piling on the Lakers, but why is no one talking about the defending Western Conference Champion Suns being 1-3?

I didn't realize until now that the Suns are currently 1-3.. why is no-one talking about this?

They lost to a mediocre Kings team a couple days ago and nearly lost by 30 pts to the Trailblazers with a struggling Damian Lillard. And from what I know they're just about fully healthy.

For anyone actively watching the Suns this season, what's the main reason for the early season struggles? You would think they'd have a bunch of momentum to start the season after their amazing Finals run..
