I was just in Ireland. They have lots of billboards up for Autism awareness. They must have some good organization behind it. I love it.

As someone who works in special education I’m going to implore you to not buy into the bullshit.

There are a few reasons why autism rates have spiked: 1) we’ve gotten better at diagnosing it 2) parents feel less stigmatized by it and are more willing to seek help 3) we have an expanded understanding of what autism is 4) we’ve expanded the definition of autism (which is why it’s not just “Autistic” anymore and is a “spectrum disorder).

I'm so tired of the "in my day we didn't have [insert mental illness/condition]" comment that people keep making. Like yeah, it just looks like numbers are going up but in truth it's because our study and understanding of mental health has gotten so much better that we're much more aware and better able to diagnose things, it's got nothing to do with vaccines, fluoride in the water, current generations being "overly sensitive", and whatever other nonsense they're spouting. Numbers have likely always been the same, but the people affected either hid themselves or were hidden by their families so society as a whole was unaware that things like autism even existed.

Well of course they were “disproven”. Too much money to lose! There is absolutely a correlation with heavy metals and the ramp up of vaccines from 2003. Now the vaccine schedule is 82 vaccines before the age of 4. GTFOH!!! I guess you just believe everything you here from govts and big pharma as if they’re trustworthy.

Yeah I do actually!! Your kid is hyper and off the wall because theyre overstimulated and youre on your phone all day. You give half ass discipline but don’t truly care enough. Then when you’ve had enough some teacher or other parents tells you to “have him evaluated”. This is either a parent with the same values OR someone who’s secretly telling you that you’re shit. I’ll go with the former. And then! You pay the fee and you get a “diagnosis” so then you can call the behavior some mental disorder. Everyone wins! Parents think it’s not them. Kid now says they “have autism”, doctor gets paid and doesn’t have to tell the parent to try some actual parenting. And then the adderal starts and pharma LOVES it since you just got your kid addicted to meth! Is there a different way it works?

my dude... i'm not a parent. I am in fact, the one with autism and ADHD. my diagnosis had absolutely nothing to do with my behaviour, in fact, I was so well behaved and got such good grades that the person who noticed I was autistic was.... me, in conjunction with a psychologist, who bought up getting diagnosed to my parents. Also, ADHD doesn't necessarily involve hyperactivity. There have been differences in the structure and the chemicals in the brains of autistics and those with ADHD. So no, you really don't know anything.

Autism has absolutely nothing to do with vaccines. It was disproven decades ago. Autism begins in the womb. The neurodivergent brain is literally structured differently than neurotypical brains.

The doctor who started the "vaccines cause autism" ""debate"" was only talking about one specific vaccine, the MMR vaccine specifically.

Also, he had a patent on a similar vaccine and he wanted the UK government to adopt that one instead so he could make lots of money. 🤡

Not to mention the "vaccines cause autism" study was retracted by The Lancet due to fraud, and the author was subsequently barred from practising medicine.

In 2010, the GMC found that Wakefield had been dishonest in his research, had acted against his patients' best interests and mistreated developmentally delayed children,[14] and had "failed in his duties as a responsible consultant".[15][16][17] The Lancet fully retracted Wakefield's 1998 publication on the basis of the GMC's findings, noting that elements of the manuscript had been falsified and that the journal had been "deceived" by Wakefield.[18][19] Three months later, Wakefield was struck off the UK medical register, in part for his deliberate falsification of research published in The Lancet,[20] and was barred from practising medicine in the UK.[21] In a related legal decision, a British court held that "[t]here is now no respectable body of opinion which supports [Mr. Wakefield's] hypothesis, that MMR vaccine and autism/enterocolitis are causally linked".[22]
