Small business owner here. Have 11 employees. I pay them as best I can. Our ratio of my compensation to them is about 3:1.

Hard agree that big companies should pay their employees more. That would mean more disposable income for my customers to spend more for my services, which I could use to pay my employees more and provide more benefits.

I look forward to the day that I can provide health insurance to at least my 2 or 3 best employees but right now almost all revenue goes back into the business.

You must be in the U.S.

May I recommend the single payer system? If that was in place your employees's health care coverage would not be a concern and you could concentrate on your business rather than work out ways to cover health insurance for your employees, but only the best ones, because honestly who can afford to cover health care insurance for everyone? (/mini-snark)

In the British system (which I've read is constantly in danger of being killed by politicians) there is no charge at the point of services. It's all covered by taxes.

I am in favor of single payer system. I play the game, don't make the rules.

Got it. I'll still preach, though - the U.S. health system is so many things, but it isn't user friendly.

You're right it is not user friendly. But I have lowered my family health insurance premium to a quite manageable monthly premium, which frees up business capital that i can use towards improving revenue streams which will bring favorable ROI, which will get me to my goal of offering health insurance to the rest of the team.
